The Breighton Bash (continued)

(BELOW) Breighton's very own 'Gangsta's' Les and Steven pose with our guest's of honour, two former wartime Breighton personnel, Cal Younger and Peter Gibby, both of 460 squadron. Peter was an electrician and Cal a navigator who was shot down in a Wellington, with only him and the rear gunner surviving. They were taken PoW and Cal wrote a book about it in 1956 called 'No Flight From The Cage'. Les took them both for a fly around in his R-22 on Saturday, and then took Peter for a ride in the Magister on Sunday. They both thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we'll certainly be inviting them back next year. (Nessa Carr)

(ABOVE LEFT) "...what, really? The war's o-v-e-r?" - Baz'll drink to that! (Nessa)

(ABOVE RIGHT) 'Maverick' and 'Pinetree Leader' share a joke! (Alan and Andy C) (Nessa)

(BELOW) With the big band changing in the loo there was nothing else for it... (Nessa)

(ABOVE) A rousing rendition of 'We'll meet again'... most probably in about six hours time by my watch! (Nessa)

(BELOW) Wasn't me - I didn't bring me shooter! Breighton's 'Anthill Mob' look on as the Tripe takes a hit! (Nessa)

(ABOVE) Sunday morning - 5 raw eggs, a shot of tabasco and a pickled ghurkin - luverly-juberly! John and Les prepare for day two. (Nessa)

(ABOVE LEFT) Two of the smartest dressed attendees (Steve Carr). (ABOVE RIGHT) The USAAF also represented - Steve poses with 'Janie' (Steve Carr).

(BELOW) Some of Sunday's military vehicle rally.
